POSITION SUMMARY |
The Senior Manager of Accounts Receivable Operations will be responsible for daily operations of the accounts receivable and follow-up functions for Stewardship Health with emphasis on special projects and audits. The senior manager will lead a team responsible for managing collections and accounts receivable processes and seeks innovative solutions with their team to optimize performance. This individual will possess a strong understanding of healthcare billing practices, compliance regulations, payer rules, and excellent leadership skills to drive performance and enhance revenue cycle management. |
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Maintain knowledge of payer rules, regulations and guidelines and ensure that all accounts receivable activities comply with federal, state and local regulations as well as internal policies.
- Prepare and analyze accounts receivable reports, identifying trends, areas for improvement and making recommendations to senior management.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance collection processes and reduce days in accounts receivable.
- Monitor and assign daily workload to the AR team to optimize load-balancing and staff acuity.
- Demonstrate ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
- Design, establish and maintain an organizational structure and staffing model to accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives in an effective manner; recruit, train, coach and evaluate AR staff members.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to review productivity metrics, reaffirm weekly/monthly goals, provide coaching/training and ensure work is appropriately prioritized.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Supervise and mentor the accounts receivable team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide guidance and support professional development opportunities for team members.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal departments and external stakeholders regarding accounts receivable inquiries and issues.
- Collaborate with IT and software vendors to optimize processes, systems and tools.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS |
- Working knowledge of CPT & HCPCS Codes, Revenue Codes and ICD-10 coding.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
- Self-motivated and directed.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-growth, fast paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare billing and coding practices and relevant regulations (i.e. HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE/TECHNICAL/OTHER |
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree in Business, Health Administration or Health Information Management preferred.
- Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in accounts receivable management, medical practice revenue cycle, third party payor work, or related healthcare field. Minimum of 2 years management experience.

- Software/Hardware: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
