***ASL Interpreter Per Diem
POSITION SUMMARY: |
Interprets ASL communication between patients and staff. The ASL interpreter provides interpreting services for deaf patients and hearing health professionals in a variety for medical settings. The interpreter facilitates communication through use of sign language, ensuring that the meaning is conveyed accurately, not editing, summarizing, adding meaning, or omitting and remain impartial. |
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: |
Required Skills: Bachelor's degree preferred. At least one year of medical interpreting experience is required. Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. The Interpreter must show evidence of current professional credentials form the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, National association of the Deaf, American Consortium of Certified Interpreters. American Consortium of Certified Interpreters, or other sanctioned testing system.
