Assistant Manager NICU, Full Time, Night Shift
Delivers advanced professional and technical nursing care to neonates. Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well being of the patient. Nursing care delivered complies with he objectives and policies of the hospital utilizing the nurse process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Prepares equipment and assists physician during treatment and examination of patients. Collaborates with the medical staff and other disciplines in order to facilitate patient care. Accountable for the smooth, effective, and efficient functioning of the unit during the assigned shift, with minimal direction from the department head. Supervises and instructs department's nursing personnel for assigned shift. Ensures that the department's nursing staff complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital and that age/developmentally appropriate care is given in accordance with unit standards. Assists and provides input to department head regarding employment interviews, staff performance issues/needs, and employee schedules. May be needed to work beyond the regular tour of duty or in another patient care unit as assigned by department head or nursing supervisor.

Excellent physical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Positive affect, demonstrated leadership and time-management skills.
Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language.
Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological condition.
Ability to perform in fast-paced, stressful environment.
Graduate from an approved nursing educational program as defined by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN)
Current Florida RN license
NRP within 3 months.
Holds a current BLS card from the American Heart Association
Holds a current S.T.A.B.L.E.
PALS within 3 months of employment from the American Heart Association
Strongly prefer certification in specialty.
Excellent critical-thinking skills.
Ability to perform in fast-paced, stressful environment
Excellent physical assessment skills.
Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with all levels of the organization.
Strong computer skills.
