Behavioral Health Navigator
Under the general direction of the department MEDICAL DIRECTOR, DIRECTOR, AND MANAGER,PROGRAM THERAPY the Acute Care Psychiatric Navigator will be responsible for providing comprehensive risk and threat assessments of patients requiring them within the hospital, primarily in the Emergency Department setting. They will also assist in disposition of patient and providing coordination of care and therapeutic interventions to coordinate safe discharge if the patient does not meet inpatient psychiatric criteria. The Navigator will act as the point of coordination between the Emergency Department (and other departments as appropriate), inpatient psychiatric units, and the psychiatric admissions departments to ensure safe, smooth transfer of patient’s requiring higher level of care.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A. Minimum Masters in Social Work under clinical supervision or a LPC-I. RN with relevant psychiatric experience may also be considered.
B. Minimum of one year of experience inpatient psychiatric services or acute care outpatient psychiatric settings.
C. One year of experience in an in-patient setting preferred.
D. Documentation of current and active clinical supervisory relationship in good standing is required for LPC-I or LMSW.
