Summary:

Sharon Regional Intensive Behavioral Health Services is a well-established program with a strong clinically oriented approach to serving children and adolescents residing in Mercer and Lawrence County. Our program promotes resilience, autonomy, and self-determination utilizing an eclectic range of intervention strategies deployed by a collaborative treatment team.

A Behavioral Health Technician (BHT II) is part of that collaborative team providing therapeutic interventions and support to children and adolescents in the home, school, or community setting.

The BHT under the direction of an experienced clinical supervisor implements critical problem-solving strategies, promotes behavioral stabilization, and facilitates skill transition as identified in the child’s plan of care. This includes providing the child with instructions/support to understand, interpret, and manage feelings and emotional responses to situations; collection of data for further interpretation of intervention outcomes; and aiding the parent/caregiver to address the therapeutic needs of the child;

Job duties:

  • Support of problem-solving skill development.
  • Instruction on how to understand, direct, interpret, manage, and control feelings and emotional responses to situations
  • Aid the parent/caregiver to address the therapeutic needs of the patient; psychoeducational services related to mental health, including the development of improved decision-making skills to manage behavior.
  • Aid with the development of socially acceptable behaviors, instruction on stress reduction, techniques; data collection; behavioral stabilization and interventions to support services.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, education or related field; or an Associate's Degree/60 credits towards a bachelor's degree; or a Pennsylvania license as a registered nurse.
  • CPR/BLS IS REQUIRED UPON HIRE. AHA or ARC
  • Two years’ experience in the provision of behavioral health services to children/youth
  • Background Clearances (as required by law)
  • Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance
  • Successful completion of post offers physical and drug screening
