Responsibilities:

Follows appropriate lines of communication to effectively resolve difficult patient/family/physician/staff situations.

Responds appropriately and immediately in emergency situations.

Maintains a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and/or staff to provide the highest level of physical comfort, and minimize risk and injury.

Ensures compliance with regulations to maintain accreditation, licensure, and certification.

Completed all Hospital and Department Specific Mandatory requirements in the prior calendar year.

Demonstrates knowledge and follows JCAHO Patient Safety Goals. Supports department specific patient safety and quality initiatives as defined by department manager.

Understands and adheres to Holy Family Health Care's compliance standards and policies .

Corporate Compliance Program, Code of Conduct and Business Ethics; sponsors and implements initiatives to achieve the System's compliance goals.

Responds promptly and courteously to customer (Internal & external)/patient requests.

Performs routine and transesophageal echocardiograms of high quality on newborn, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. (TEE« adult and geriatric only).

Obtains pertinent clinical information and documents such on appropriate forms for physician review.

Keeps equipment clean and in good working order. Assures an adequate amount of supplies are available.

Coordinates scheduling of patients with nursing units and outside physician practices. Schedules to provide an efficient and expedient performance of testing.

Accurately documents tests in log book, appointment book, and computer scheduling system.

Enters charges appropriately into hospital information system and documents recording physician according to established protocol.

Maintains files and tape storage. Mails or faxes reports, as required.

Recognizes own learning needs and assumes responsibility for professional growth.

Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship and rapport with cardiologists.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved program in Echocardiography.

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography Certification Preferred.

  • Pediatric experience preferred.

  • Candidates with on-the-job training and proven, documented competency may be considered.
