Job Summary:

To schedule all outpatient appointments in the hospital computer system for all Saint Anne’s Hospital Customers. Appointments are also scheduled for all Cardiac Inpatients. This will be done in a timely manner and with the goal of 100% satisfaction. Assist in booking patients from newborn to geriatrics. Schedules patients for examinations utilizing the Meditech scheduling system. Reviews for completeness and accuracy. Coordinates patient flow throughout all scheduled departments. Files reports and generates daily schedules and Outpatient Request Order Forms for distribution to the Admitting area. Quality checks all work to ensure accuracy of test scheduled with diagnosis. Obtains and enters into Meditech complete and accurate inpatient and outpatient demographic information received from physician offices and/or other hospital departments. Giving pre-procedure instructions to patients, staff at physicians’ offices and some communication with referring physicians. Involve verifying insurance validity and pre authorization when needed. Responsible for verifying the approval of Motor Vehicle and Workers Compensation Claims. Transferring call to various departments within the hospital.

Minimum Education Requirements: High school diploma required. Associates Degree preferred

Minimum Work Experience: 3 to 5 years medical background
