  1. Works with, coordinates and supervises the work done by contractors and sub-contractors.
  2. Assist and coordinates the efforts of design architects and engineers in a job site problem resolution.
  3. Advises, consults and recommends resolutions to project progress problems.
  4. Reviews and approves work-in progress invoices and requisitions for materials purchased and work done.
  5. Arranges and obtains necessary permits, materials, equipment and tools.
  6. Participates in the selection and supervision of temporary hospital construction personnel, as required.
  7. Maintains accurate records of all work drawings, purchase orders, vendors and expenses.
  8. Maintains the direction and operation of shops and boiler room.
  9. Maintains records of fuel consumption and electrical usage and determine if these usages are in line with efficient operating procedures.
  10. Requisitions supplies, replacement parts and equipment as needed.
  11. Supervises installation and repair of new or complex equipment
  12. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the operation and maintenance of hospital equipment
  13. Responsible for evaluation of employees.
  14. Responsible for Management in budget preparation.
  15. Key point person with regards to the employment and termination of employees.
  16. Demonstrates knowledge of fire safety, smoking and infection control policies.
  17. Demonstrates safe and effective use of equipment.
  18. Responds appropriately during unexpected events.
  19. Attends annual Safety Fair.
  20. Regularly attends and participates in team and/or department meetings and work activities.
  21. Actively listens and constructively responds to questions and concerns in a timely manner


Must have ability to sterilize equipment, special trays and packs, and identify equipment for packaging for OR and other units engaged in surgical procedures. Must have knowledge of cleaning requirements for surgical instruments and supplies.


  1. Education: High School Diploma and/or GED
  2. Experience (Type & Length): Five years of supervising experience required.
  1. Knowledge of heating and power systems required.
  2. Demonstrates leadership/management skills.
  3. Ability to interact effectively and maintains a pleasant and professional manner.
  4. Ability to be flexible in work habits

III. Certification/Licensure: Fireman 2nd Class license preferred.
