Through a coordinated effort with the Admitting Department and CBO staff, this position assists in the screening of private or self-pay patients to secure potential third party benefits and/or coverage. Represents and assists patients and/or families in applying for benefits under federal, state, county and hospital programs. Prefer 1-2 years of experience in Medicaid applications and knowledgeable in the process to obtain financial assistance. It is necessary to have the skill set to interview patients/families in a courteous professional manner. (The position requires bedside interviews with patients). Good communication skills are necessary. This position requires knowledge in using Microsoft Office, Cerner Revenue Cycle, Star Revenue and be able to work in multiple systems/ software’s, This position will require the ability to handle patients coming to the facility with financial questions related to their accounts, insurance, etc. Must be able to work under fast and or stressful conditions. Ability to interact with CBO staff concerning patient’s issues / concerns. Provides service to age range from Neonate to Geriatric. This position is monitored and directed by the Director of Revenue Cycle / Patient Access.
