Job Summary:
The Mental Health Worker establishes a therapeutic relationship with all patients and is responsible for the overall provision and maintenance of a safe, therapeutic environment in the behavioral health unit.
Job Duties:
- Documents on patient activities as well as interactions with patients.
- Takes vital signs, weighs patients, and collects routine specimens.
- Completes various routine unit duties. Ensures patient safety by providing continuous safety checks and 1:1 direct patient observation as needed.
- Assists patients with ADL's.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Closely monitor patient behaviors and intervene as needed.
- Works under immediate supervision.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR/BLS IS REQUIRED UPON HIRE. AHA or ARC
- Clearances as required by law.
- Experience with Behavioral Health populations preferred.
- Crisis Management Training must be completed within 90 days of hire.
