Pot Washer, Per Diem, Varied Day Shifts, Weekends Required, Holidays As Needed
  1. Position Function:

    Responsible to ensure that all pots and utensils are washed and sanitized appropriately. Does sanitation duties as assigned.


    II. Job Relationships:

    Supervised and/or reports to the following:
    - Operations Manager (primary)
    - Manager on Duty (secondary)

    Collaborates and effectively communicates with peers, nutrition & food service staff and other health care and support staffs.

    III. Authority:

    To report any or all violations of hospital policies and procedures.

    IV. A. Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

    1.) "Provides superior customer service to internal and external clients, customers,
    and patients as referenced in the Service Excellence Standards."

    Keeps work areas clean and proper departmental sanitation to assure a safe, sanitary working environment.

    Sweeps, mops, and/or squeegees floors as assigned or needed, utilizing proper warning signs for safety at all times.

    Cleans, sanitizes and scrubs equipment (inside and out) to ensure a sanitary and safe work environment.

    Keeps areas storage/mop closet clean and in order: keeps all cleaning agents out of food production area.

    Empties trash receptacles and cleans trash cans.

    Maintains filling of paper towel holders and soap dispensers within the department.

    Maintains pot machine as directed

    Maintains sanitation standards to include all equipment, floor and trash cans.

    B. Responsibilities/Non-Essential Functions:

    Maintains a "clean as you go" attitude using prescribed methods as demonstrated by a clean and neat work area.

    Adheres to sanitation guidelines to prevent food-borne illness and possible spread of infection.

    Covers, labels and dates food in appropriate containers.

    Follows established sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe work environment.

    Completes workload in time allotted without interference of quality.

    Aids in a team effort at all times to ensure all tasks are completed timely and safely.

    Attends all employee meetings and in-services as scheduled.

    V. Reporting Requirements:

    Reports to manager on duty.

    VI. Accountability:
    Accountable for maintaining the confidentiality and security of all hospital and department policies.

    VII. Qualifications:
    Minimum Education:
    High School or GED equivalent.
    Minimum Experience:
    Previous experience in general kitchen area preferred but not necessary.
    Minimum skills/abilities:
    Must be able to read and write English.
