Provide respiratory care to patients by performing Respiratory Therapy treatments, arterial blood gases, education, assessments, ventilator care, pulmonary functions, EKGs, EEGs, Stress Tests, Oxygen Therapy, Holter Monitors, assist in Rapid Response, emergency resuscitation, clerical duties, along with routine daily duties and other functions as assigned.


    • Performs various activities in assessing the respiratory status and implementing care needs of patients.
    • Safely and effectively administers all therapy and modifies it to meet the patient’s age specific needs. Assures all PRN patients are checked and documented on at least one time per shift.
    • Functions as a team and understands that Respiratory patients are the responsibility of all therapists.
    • Positively assists coworkers with patient workloads as time permits. Assists in all areas of department.
    • Maintains National Patient Safety Goals while providing patient care. Reviews/verifies physician orders carefully prior to each test for therapy.


    • Education: Registered or Certified by attending an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program. Registered preferred.
    • Experience: Previous acute care hospital Respiratory Care experience is preferred.
    • Licensure: Current Florida Respiratory Therapy license.
    • Other: Current BLS, ACLS
