Trauma PI Coordinator
Summary: Under the direction of the Trauma Program Manager (TPM), assists to improve the quality of trauma care throughout the continuum of care.
Responsibilities: Collaborates with the Trauma Medical Director (TMD) and the TPM to assess, plan, implement and evaluate trauma care. This collaboration will assure adherence to the Trauma ProgramÆs Performance Improvement/Patient Safety (PIPS) program through concurrent and retrospective clinical review and chart review of trauma patients. The Trauma Program Manager will be ultimately responsible for the PI facilitated by the Performance Improvement Coordinator. Effective continuous performance improvement and patient safety programs depend upon concurrent monitoring of the events surrounding the care and outcome of injured patients. Rational decision-making aimed at improving trauma care must be based upon a detailed understanding of the causes, treatment, and outcomes of injury. Experience with the performance improvement initiatives is preferred.
Qualifications: BS Degree in Nursing and 5 years experience in either ED or Critical Care caring for trauma patients is required. RN Licensure in MA plus ACLS, PALS, TNCC are also required.
